I write these posts for fun. Only a few, but you are a cherished few, read them. When there are comments I’m delighted – they are usually much brainier than my post . So what could possibly go wrong?
Well, I don’t want to appear a shrinking violet but The Times crossword today (Monday) upset my delicate sensibilities. 13 Across: what could be extremely banal offering? (4)
However, a reader sent me something rather cheering which I’d like to share. You might remember I mentioned last week that my investment in GeoPark had not been fruitful? Actually I said that I’d lost about 20% when it was (almost) impossible to lose money in the stock market.
“GeoPark +10% after J.P. Morgan says Buy on exploration success
Mar. 13, 2017 11:08 AM ET|About: GeoPark Ltd. (GPRK)|By: Carl Surran, SA News Editor
GeoPark (GPRK +10.3%) surges as much as 31% to its highest since November 2014 after J.P. Morgan upgrades shares to Overweight from Neutral with a $10 price target, double the firm’s previous $5 target.
JPM says GPRK’s proved exploratory success in Colombia increasing 2P reserves by 46% Y/Y, increased production expectations and sound free cash flow generation in 2017-18 are the main reasons supporting the upgrade.”
Tomorrow you can read what I meant to write about this morning but please don’t buy GeoPark. This song is dedicated to you – my readers, without you I wouldn’t bother to write.
