Mom’s the Word

Season of mists, etc. – thank you Keats. What with Southern Rail’s autumn timetable that leaves a forty-five minute gap between trains from Victoria to Gatwick and those mists I had a longish day yesterday.

The mists meant that Gatwick was not functioning properly and flights were delayed. After flying over the Alps and the Pyrenees it was only twenty minutes on the Metro to get to the city centre and sit outside, the temperature was 25C, tucking into gin and tapas.

If you are unfamiliar with Mom (motto, God Save The Gin) here are the tasting notes.

A premiun gin made with exotic botanicals and berries to give a touch of smoothness. Infused after four distillations to achieve an amazing purity and class. Carefully crafted to bring you a unique softness, vibrant berry taste and a distinctively sweet finish. PERFECT SERVE We recommend serving as a Gin & Tonic in a balloon glass, decorated with a amarena on a skewer. The amarena gives the GIN & Tonic a soft natural pink hue. Enjoy a striking and sophisticated drink with a sweet and bitter finish.

Are you foxed by an amarena – of course not – but I had recourse to Google. It’s a cherry but mine, in fact, came with a strawberry. Here is where I am and if you want to see more of this city you will have to wait until I get out and about todayimg_2469

    1. The building is the very grand Town Hall, although it is a city, the third largest in Spain, in which territory you are too, I think?

    1. I had a window seat and we flew over Paris, down to Toulouse took a right turn over the Pyrenees and fetched up in Valencia. More importantly, in view of your comment, I took no refreshment and the pilot was sensible too. I mentioned the route because it does not seem the shortest.
